Convention delegates will soon be able
to live like a rock star. Construction is beginning on
the
Hard Rock Hotel San Diego that will be located in the historic
Gaslamp Quarter. Destined to be a landmark of downtown
San Diego’s urban revival, the property is strategically
located at the entrance of the Gaslamp Quarter directly
across the street from the Convention Center and adjacent
to PETCO Park.
Set to open in the spring of 2007, the hotel will offer
all the usual Hard Rock lifestyle elements including cutting-edge
design, high-radar restaurant and hot spot bars, unique
and dramatic meeting space, and of course, its trademark
music energy. The Hard Rock Hotel will offer 40,000 sq.
ft. of meeting space and also be complemented by destination
restaurants and retail establishments.
With this latest addition, San Diego continues to be more
accommodating than ever. When the Hard Rock Hotel opens,
it will boost the Center’s total hotel rooms within
a mile of the building to 9,000 rooms. More than 4,600
of these rooms are just right across the street from the
Center.
