If convention attendees don’t book hotel accommodations in the official room block before the cut-off date, they’re usually on their own to find a place to stay. But help is here with Advanced Reservation Systems (ARES), a San Diego-based company that provides customized web-based reservation solutions and assists attendees with hotel reservations after the cut off date.
“We’ve had a great response from both clients and attendees because it’s convenient and seamless,” said Valentina Valente, Housing Manager at the Convention Center.
Since the Convention Center partnered with ARES late last year, several groups including the American Society of Healthcare Engineers and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry have or will be using the service. While ARES helps make reservations after the 30 day cut-off, they can also assist groups that do not have a specific housing provider at anytime prior to the event.
“Our clients like it because it helps attendees find a hotel room after contracted hotels are sold out. As part of the service, they receive a list of the hotels summarizing where those attendees are staying too,” said Ms. Valente.
Because ARES is San Diego based, they’re familiar with all local properties, from luxury hotels to value lodging. ARES also provides online travel reservations, activity ticketing and packaging on San Diego’s most popular destination attractions.
