San Diego Convention Center Names New Regional VP of Sales

The San Diego Convention Center has promoted Phyllis Bradley Azama, CMP, to Vice President of Sales, Eastern Region.  Ms. Azama, who previously served as the Director of National Accounts, will now direct the Convention Center’s overall sales effort in its Washington, D.C. office.

A 19-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Ms. Azama was a sales executive with the San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau for 11 years. During that time she served three years as the National Sales Manager for hotel meetings and eight years in Convention Center Sales including two years as Regional Director of Sales in the Bureau’s Washington D. C. office. Ms. Azama joined the San Diego Convention Center sales team this past July when all sales and marketing responsibilities for the facility were transferred to the Center.

Ms. Azama is an active member of the Professional Convention Management Association and has served on its Capital Chapter Board. She is also a member of the Greater Washington Society of Association Executives Network, the American Society of Association Executives and the Center for Association Leadership, and the International Association of Exhibit Managers.
