New headquarter hotel expected to increase future business

| The 2006 Forecast indicates a good year ahead for the Convention Center with increases in almost all categories. The facility is expected to generate $1.16 billion in regional economic impact and $25 million in tax revenues for the City of San Diego. Hotel room usage surpassed 722,400 room nights, a 9.2% increase over last year. Overall attendance is a record-breaking 1,016,103; more than half a million are out-of-town convention delegates. On average, each of the 75 conventions scheduled in 2006 will bring in an estimated $15.4 million to the region. The average daily room night rate is expected to be $210.38 per night.
