Convention Center is Named a "Great Place to Work"

The San Diego Convention Center won a coveted Marble Award recognizing it as one of the region's "Great Places to Work." The award was presented by the San Diego Society for Human Resource Management at their 6th Annual Workplace Excellence Award ceremony yesterday.

The Convention Center, which generated $1.2 billion in economic impact including $25.5 million in taxes to the City last year, is the only City of San Diego agency to ever have received this honor. This is an enormous achievement as less than 1% of the total number of companies throughout San Diego are recognized.

This achievement is also a very positive reflection on the entire destination. One of the major factors contributing to San Diego's success is a well-trained, service-oriented staff. This honor is a testament to the many dedicated employees at the Convention Center and the important role they play in maintaining our city's reputation as a top meeting and convention destination.
