The San Diego Convention Center Corporation is exclusively responsible for marketing, managing and operating the award-winning San Diego Convention Center.  Since opening is 1989, the Convention Center has generated $12.8 billion in regional economic impact and more than $270 million in tax revenues for the City of San Diego.

2007 CONVENTION FORECAST
Record-breaking Business anticipated in 2007

Increases expected in several categories including all-time high economic benefits

We are proud to announce that the award-winning San Diego Convention Center is expected to generate an all time high $1.56 billion in regional economic impact, a 16.3 percent increase over last year.  Total tax revenues, including TOT (Transient Occupancy Tax) and sales tax revenues, are expected to exceed $25.1 million, up from $24.9 million in 2006.  Hotel room usage is the highest in four years exceeding 741,400 room nights, up from 727,173 last year.
 
Overall attendance is anticipated to reach 1.01 million visitors this year.  Sixty-five conventions are booked and are forecast to boost primary business attendance to its highest level ever, 582,000 out-of-town delegates.
