We are pleased to share the San Diego Convention Center Corporation’s annual report and record-breaking accomplishments of FY08, which ran July 1, 2007 - June 30, 2008.

Last fiscal year, the San Diego Convention Center continued to attract the nation’s most lucrative conventions generating a record $1.8 billion regional economic impact and an unprecedented $32.0 million in tax revenues for the city of San Diego. These impressive results underscore the strength of San Diego as a premier convention destination and the resiliency of an industry that performs well even in tough economic times.

Nearly one million people attended over 230 events, including a record 648,159 out-of-town attendees who generated 729,696 room nights for our local hotels. Convention visitors and the money they spend are vital to San Diego’s economy. And the events they attend support 12,500 jobs for the hard working men and women of San Diego.

As a public-benefit corporation, we are proud of our accomplishments. We look forward to the future and generating even greater benefits on behalf of all San Diegans.
