New Citywide Planner Workbook is the ultimate resource guide

The San Diego Convention Center’s first-ever Citywide Planner Workbook has arrived, filled from cover to cover with all the essential, time-saving tools for planning a world-class event at our award-winning facility.

“We are delighted to offer this new comprehensive planning resource to our current and prospective customers,” said Sandra Moreno, the Convention Center’s executive vice president, sales and marketing.

Because the San Diego Convention Center is responsible for its own sales and marketing, we decided to take a truly unique approach and create a workbook-style planning guide that combines the best of everything. So in addition to detailed information on our world-class destination, facilities and hotels, our new Citywide Planner Workbook includes a special “hands-on” section called Planning Your Convention Center Event.

Designed specifically for busy meeting professionals, this user-friendly section features a step-by-step timetable for planning an event, general facility information, including our policies, rules and regulations and building services, easy-to-read, fold-out floor plans with complete exhibit hall and meeting room specifications, and a four-year planning calendar.

Our Citywide Planner Workbook also includes:

Meet the Team
- key contact information for our senior management, sales staff, event managers, convention services managers and preferred service providers, including production design, audio-visual and telecommunications.

San Diego, the Destination- information on traveling to and around our city, including air and train service to San Diego, car rental, airport shuttles and taxis, public transit, and parking options.

San Diego Hotels- accommodations throughout the region, more than 52,000 guest rooms in all. A detailed listing of downtown hotels and a locator map provide specifics on the 11,000 first-class guest rooms now available within walking distance of our building.

Convention and Destination Services- from attendance-building tools to on-site remote skycap service, the Convention Center is continuously adding innovative programs to improve service.

Special Event Venues- San Diego’s near-perfect weather, seaside setting, year-round attractions and rich cultural diversity have given our region an incredible array of event venues.

Other Essential Resources and Services– contact information for other necessities, from charter bus and office equipment rentals to florists and photographers to entertainment and party rental suppliers to name a few.

The Citywide Planner Workbook is currently being mailed out to clients and copies are also available by e-mail request to Gaby Arroyo. The workbook can also be viewed online.
