When it comes to hosting the Wheel of Fortune, San Diego and its award-winning Convention Center are definitely on a roll.

The ever-popular television game show’s cast and crew, including celebrity co-hosts Pat Sajak and Vanna White, were in our building for three days in late March, taping future episodes before live audiences.

This marked the third time in less than a decade that the “Wheel of Fortune” has taken its show on the road to San Diego and our Convention Center - more than any other city and venue in the nation.

This latest visit once again put San Diego’s many impressive attributes in the limelight. The glittering sets, which shared the stage with the game show’s trademark 4,000-pound wheel, were decorated with replicas of some of our best known destination spots, including two attractions just steps away from the Convention Center – our vibrant Gaslamp Quarter and festive Seaport Village.But what really pushed San Diego to the top of the list as a must-see destination for convention visitors was White’s on-site, on-air promos showcasing our incredible weather, spectacular oceanfront setting and world-class attractions.

The tapings yielded 15 half-hour episodes, which are being broadcast by NBC affiliates around the nation and overseas during “Sunny San Diego Week (May 7 to May 11) and “Armed Forces Week (May 14 to 18).
