San Diego’s Coolest Summer Camps

San Diego is not only a great place for conventions, it’s a fabulous place for attendees to extend their stay and enjoy world-class attractions with the entire family.  Conventioneers can keep youngsters busy at a day camp while attending meetings or stay longer for fun in the sun San Diego-style making memories they’ll treasure forever.
SAN DIEGO ZOO

A trip to San Diego wouldn’t be complete without a stop by the world-famous San Diego Zoo.  From venomous vipers (safely ensconced behind glass!) to adorable pandas, the zoo is the perfect place to spend quality time with the family and creatures of all shapes and sizes.  .

During the summer, the Zoo offers plenty of exciting activities to keep children occupied, educated, and smiling!  Students entering grades K-7 can have a blast during the five-day programs tailored for each grade level.  They get to meet exotic critters, go behind-the-scenes, make crafts, and a whole lot more.

SEAWORLD SAN DIEGO

SeaWorld San Diego is one of the best places in the world to get up close and personal with marine animals.  From dining with Shamu and marveling at the penguins to making a splash in the all new Sesame Street Bay of Play, there’s plenty to keep parents and kids alike enthralled.

During the summer, SeaWorld San Diego offers a variety of Adventure Camps for kids preschool through grade 12.  Kids will have opportunities to experience an adventure with Shamu, meet some extreme sea creatures, explore the mysteries of marine mammals and more, depending on their grade level.

BIRCH AQUARIUM

When visiting San Diego, make sure to make time to meet some of our neighbors to the west.  The Birch Aquarium sits on a picturesque bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean and is the perfect spot for coming face-to-fin with some the ocean’s most fascinating inhabitants.  From the 13,000 gallon shark reef tank to the hands-on tide-pools, kids of all ages will have a memorable time discovering more about sea creatures, our climate and ocean sciences. 

This summer, the Birch Aquarium is offering a variety of programs for children pre-K through grade 9.  From a few days to an entire week, your budding oceanographer will have a summer to remember exploring the wonders of sea life.  Depending on the program, kids get to play with sea slugs, go kayaking, make crafts or spend the day snorkeling!

SAN DIEGO WILD ANIMAL PARK

Located in San Diego’s North County, the Wild Animal Park is a wildlife sanctuary and home to over 3,500 animals and just as many botanical species.  The Wild Animal Park is a great way to enjoy Southern California’s beautiful weather while learning more about the creatures we share our world with.  Just make sure to bring your walking shoes – the park covers 1,800 acres of land!

New this summer is the Wild Animal Park’s summer camp program for kids entering grades 1 through 9 in the fall.  Choose between programs offering 1, 2, 3, or 5 days of fun and discovery.  Available sessions include: Wild Survivor, Grossology and Animal Care Boot Camp.  Kids will have the time of their lives with hands-on-activities, private animal encounters, and more fun than a barrel of monkeys.
