Our outstanding team of hospitality industry professionals is growing again with the addition of two new staff members in our Event Services Department and a new manager in Convention Services.


Dave Matta,
Director of National Accounts

Dave recently joined the Convention Center’s Sales team bringing with him more than a decade of experience in the hospitality industry. He previously worked as a sales manager for Wyndham Hotels and Resorts and as a sales manager for Omni San Diego Hotel.


Rachel Williams,
Event Manager

Rachel recently joined the Convention Center’s Event Management team as an event manager following 11 years in the hospitality industry. Her prior experience was primarily in hotels and restaurants, which makes Rachel a perfect fit for our facility and our destination. A native of Saginaw, Michigan, she is very interested in the culinary arts.

Dianne Javier,
Event Coordinator

Dianne has been working in the hospitality industry for two years prior to joining the Convention Center’s event management team in August 2007. A native San Diegan, she is an “in-house” expert on our beautiful destination.

Adriana Urista,
Convention Services Manager

Adriana has been in the hospitality industry for eight years in both convention services and catering sales. She has also worked in destination management in the areas of operations and sales. A native San Diegan, Adriana speaks Spanish fluently.


Jonathan Landau,
Advertising Sales Associate

Jonathan worked in finance and non-profit fundraising prior to joining the Convention Center’s Public Affairs team in 2007. He manages advertising sales with the Center’s hospitality industry partners, including hotels, restaurants, special event venues and other related businesses.
