PCMA Recognizes Jeff Pinkley for Convention Industry Achievements
Jeff Pinkley,
Senior Event Manager
SDCCC
San Diego Convention Center Senior Event Manager Jeff Pinkley was nominated for the Distinguished Convention Services Manager Award. Sponsored annually by the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), this award recognizes the industry's best and brightest. Jeff was acknowledged for his professionalism and numerous contributions he has made toward the success of events held at the Convention Center and in our industry as a whole.
Jeff was nominated for the Distinguished Convention Services Manager of the Year Award by two first-time SDCCC clients: Kate Ho, meeting planner for the American College of Physicians and Trina Armstrong, the American Society for Cell Biology’s director of meetings. The American College of Physicians is returning to San Diego in 2011 and 2017 and the American Society for Cell Biology is returning in 2009.
Although Jeff was not originally assigned to the ACP Convention, he quickly and seamlessly stepped in for an SDCCC colleague who had to go on emergency medical leave just six weeks prior to the event.
“It feels great to be recognized by our clients,” Pinkley said. “And it feels twice as good to be nominated by two of them.”
A Certified Meeting Professional, Jeff has been involved in the hospitality industry 17 years. He joined the San Diego Convention Center Corporation team in 1997 as an event manager and soon rose to his current position of senior event manager.
