San Diego (April 25, 2008) -- Effective July 1, 2008, AV Concepts will become the new preferred audio-visual services provider for the San Diego Convention Center Corporation (SDCCC). AV Concepts was chosen in response to a Request for Proposal issued by the corporation and an extensive internal review process. The corporation and AV concepts will execute an initial contract for a five-year term with an option to renew for one additional five-year term. Meeting Services, Inc., the corporation’s existing preferred service provider, is contracted through June 30, 2008.

AV Concepts is an established company providing audio, video and lighting support to conventions and trade shows, the corporate community, meeting planners and production companies, as well as providing in-house management to convention centers, hotels and resorts. Several existing San Diego Convention Center clients are also AV Concepts clients including Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE).
AV Concepts is based in Tempe, Arizona, but has a 22,000 sf warehouse located just 15 minutes from the Convention Center. Other facilities they serve include the Phoenix Convention Center and the Scottsdale Plaza Resort.
The San Diego Convention Center Corporation is a public benefit corporation created by the City of San Diego. The Corporation is exclusively responsible for marketing, managing and operating the Convention Center. In its 19-year history, the Center has generated nearly $15.2 billion in economic impact, over $309.8 million in tax revenues and continues to serve as San Diego’s premier gathering place.
