Denise Mongoven Joins the San Diego Convention Center Corporation as Director of National Accounts

The San Diego Convention Center Corporation (SDCCC) has named Denise Mongoven as the new Director of National Accounts. Mongoven will be based out of the corporation’s Midwest sales office in Chicago. She is responsible for booking and contracting citywide conventions, as well as developing and implementing marketing strategies to drive increased citywide business from Chicago and the surrounding Midwest area markets to the San Diego Convention Center. The SDCCC has a unique marketing model in which it is exclusively responsible for all citywide convention sales and marketing activities, resulting in a convenient “one-stop-shopping” experience for clients.

Mongoven comes to the SDCCC with over 15 years of hospitality experience. Prior to joining San Diego’s sales team, she served as Director of Global Accounts for six years with Omni Hotel Global Sales-Chicago.  While there, she was named 2005 Omni Global Sales Executive of the Year and was recognized as part of the 2006 Omni Global Sales Team of the Year. She has also worked for Loews Hotels and currently serves as the international chair of the Community Membership Advisory Council of Meeting Professionals International.

Now celebrating 20 years of success, the Convention Center has generated $18.3 billion in regional economic impact, $364 million in tax revenues for the city of San Diego and supports 12,500 jobs countywide. The SDCCC is a public benefit corporation created by the city to exclusively market, manage and operate the 2.6 million square foot waterfront facility.
